Social Value International are proud to announce a new group of Level One Associate Practitioners!
Level 1 Associate Practitioner status shows that the applicant has demonstrated theoretical competence in social value and impact management in line with the SVI Framework.

Eva Wurtz – University Colleges Leuven-Limburg (UCLL)
Why have you decided to undertake the Social Value International Practitioner Pathway? What has lead to your application for Level 1 of Practitioner?
At the University Colleges Leuven-Limburg (UCLL) we are undertaking an exciting study on the total value of a combined labour-and-care program for people with a large distance to the labour market. One of the research questions will look at the financial benefits of this program for society through a SROI analysis. I registered with Social Value International and the Practitioner Pathway to receive guidance on the principles and practice of this method.
You have now joined a community of practice around the globe. What does this mean to you and why do you want to participate and contribute to the development of the methodology and overall social value movement?
I love this quote by Joseph Stiglitz: “What we measure shapes what we collectively strive to pursue”. The world needs to move away from the narrow definition of value in terms of economic profit. To make sure ecological and social value creation (or harm) is taken into account, we need to provide decision makers in business and government with strong, clear and trustworthy data. I’m excited and honoured to now be part of a worldwide community of practice learning and developing tools and best practices to do this together.
Duygu Güner – Koç University
Why have you decided to undertake the Social Value International Practitioner Pathway? What has lead to your application for Level 1 of Practitioner?
I am working as affiliated researcher at Koç University Social Impact Forum. Our aim is to develop the social impact management capacity of social impact actors such as CSOs, social enterprises, private sector and public sector. I contributed as co-author to KUSIF publications about the social impact measurement and management and I am one of the KUSIF trainers delivering trainings on social impact management. As an independent impact assessor, I work for several CSOs and private sectors’ projects. As KUSIF, we are institutional member of Social Value International and we developed conferences, publications together with Social value International. Their approach on social value contributed to development of my professional skills. I wanted to deepen my knowledge on social value and social impact management and I decided to undertake the Social Value International Practitioner pathway.
You have now joined a community of practice around the globe. What does this mean to you and why do you want to participate and contribute to the development of the methodology and overall social value movement?
As an independent impact evaluator, I was feeling alone, always in need to discuss with other evaluators and experts in the field. Although I was following different approaches on impact measurement and management, I was feeling lost. Social Value International helped me to find my way, thanks to its trainings and conferences, I developed my knowledge on social value. Now, I strongly believe being a member of a community of practice will improve my capacity and my skills on impact measurement and management. I am very glad to have the opportunity to share experience and knowledge on the understanding the creation of social value and measuring and managing the social impact.

Why have you decided to undertake the Social Value International Practitioner Pathway? What has lead to your application for Level 1 of Practitioner?
I have long been passionate about environmental and social issues, yet simultaneously frustrated by the current state of the world and unsure how to create change. A major contributing factor to this is that often those most impacted by decisions are not involved in decision-making. SROI is a way to help improve decision-making by articulating social value based on the voice of stakeholders. As a Social Impact Consultant at Think Impact, undertaking SVI Practitioner status demonstrates my credentials and commitment to current and future clients. It also helps to build my capacity to deliver SROIs, including improving my understanding of how to involve stakeholders and follow the principles that guide the SROI methodology.
You have now joined a community of practice around the globe. What does this mean to you and why do you want to participate and contribute to the development of the methodology and overall social value movement?
For me, this is an opportunity to connect with leading thinkers in the social
value space and bring back best practice knowledge to inform my work at Think
Impact. It is also an opportunity to share frustrations and successes with
people who also have a passion for social and environmental issues. The SROI
methodology equally intrigues and challenges me, and as I grow my knowledge of
social value I look forward to sharing my learnings and contributing to the
development of the methodology.
Sinem Akkocaoğlu – Impact Management Consultant
Why have you decided to undertake the Social Value International Practitioner Pathway? What has lead to your application for Level 1 of Practitioner?
During my university years, I have studied Business Administration; then I realized that my work should be focused on making the world more sustainable for all, including the next generations. This mission has led me to search for learning more about sustainability practices and their applications around the world. In line with this pursuit, I’ve worked with several organizations, which focus on environmental developments, energy-related agendas, and social inclusion. From those experiences, I’ve come to realize that impact must be at the center of all efforts, and I believe that awareness, measurement, and visibility of social value will drive accountability throughout the world. I would like to further contribute to the process of making the word more sustainable through helping individuals and organizations, and I will strive to help them make better decisions, increase the social value creation, and use resources more effectively.
You have now joined a community of practice around the globe. What does this mean to you and why do you want to participate and contribute to the development of the methodology and overall social value movement?
I am so proud of being a member of the practitioner community. It is great to know that I can contribute to individuals and organizations to increase the social value they are creating. Social Value International provides all of us a place to speak the same language. I believe helping individuals and organizations to create more social value will help to have a positive system-wise change in the end. Thus, I look forward to building my whole carrier on social value, SROI, and impact management. I seek to pursue the Practitioner Pathway with the next achievements.
