Description
In response to rising interest in social value and the need for more strategic thinking around the issues, Social Value UK has created a half-day ‘Strategic Workshop’. These workshops aim to put the business case of social value forward to decision-makers and influencers, whilst also demystifying what social value is and the landscape of tools and approaches available.
The workshop is interactive and tailored ensuring that the conversation fits around your organisation and offers some practical solutions and next steps. The workshop is designed for senior management and board-level stakeholders, but any type of members working to implement social value across their organisation are welcome to join.

We recently co-hosted a True and Fair UK Roundtable Event with Social Value International, to which representatives from leading UK business networks as well as legal experts and authorities on financial accounts were invited. The guest list included former Governor of the Bank of England, Mervyn King, British Chambers of Commerce, Federation of Small Businesses and the Institute of Directors.
Their participation reflects growing cross-sector interest in a legal opinion SVI commissioned on the requirement for UK company directors to approve accounts that are true and fair in relation to sustainability. It discusses the opportunity for companies to include sustainability information in financial accounts.
The Roundtable discussed the implications of the opinion for company directors and heard a presentation about a business which has already disclosed its impacts on climate change in its audited financial statements.

At SVUK we are committed to holding space for our members to meet one another, share experiences, learning and social value practice, and develop new connections and opportunities together.
Our members coffee mornings from 2021 have been well received. Following feedback we will be continuing with these into 2024, incorporating some new ideas into the format and making them a lunch time event. As such these sessions will be:

- Informal, but with an agenda guided by SVUK and attending members

Social Value UK is hosting a local networking event open to both members and non-members. We invite you to join us on Wednesday, 15th May from 2:30 to 5:00 pm in Liverpool Central Library, William Brown St, Liverpool L3 8EW.
Social Value UK members do not have to pay to attend but we do ask each member to consider making a voluntary £5 donation to help with costs. Non-member tickets are £30 each. This amount will be refunded to any attendee who becomes a member Social Value UK within 3 months of the event.
Aims of the event:
1. To create a safe space for members and non-members from all sectors to come together to discuss their social value practice
2. To create a plan for future networking events
Objectives:
1. To network with those in all sectors to enable further discussions
2. To hear about how social value practice is considered, reported on and measured by particular organisations

1. To develop collaboration and partnerships
Improved organisational practice
