Consultancy services offered

Bean Research consultants are researchers first (each consultant has 20+ experience). We’re passionate about social and environmental impact, but rooted in the rigour of research. We enjoy working collaboratively and often partner with other consultants and organisations to combine experience and skills for clients.

We work with businesses, academic institutions, charitable foundations and charities. Each project is different and we will use a variety of methods - we help clients create a theory of change, develop and evaluation frameworks alongside key stakeholders, and conduct impact assessment, including Social Return on Investment (SROI). We conduct primary research from large scale quantitative surveys, one-to-one interviews and focus groups. We also undertake desk research, competitor analysis and benchmarking.

If you are thinking about commissioning a Social Value or SROI analysis, there are a couple of questions you should consider.

Should you use an Accredited Practitioner?

An Accredited Practitioner will have attended accredited social value and SROI training and subsequently been accredited by Social Value International.

Using an Accredited Practitioner gives you assurance that the person understands and has experience of applying the Principles of Social Value. All current Accredited Practitioners are listed in Social Value International’s Register of Accredited Practitioners.

Should you have your report assured?

Regardless of whether you decide to use an Accredited Practitioner, you will want to know that the work you have commissioned meets the internationally recognised standards set by Social Value International. Getting your report assured will give your work, calculations, assumptions and findings a mark of quality and credibility.

You should make a provision in your budget for the cost of assurance.
